Filip Turek faces criticism over video at Baba ruins

Czech politician Filip Turek is facing criticism following the circulation of a years-old video showing him throwing yogurt containers at a friend near the Baba ruins, a protected historical monument in Prague. Turek, a member of the Motorists party, has dismissed the incident as irresponsible yet humorous behavior from his past.

In his response, Turek utilized an ironic tone, stating that no yogurt lost its life during the filming and suggesting that because the products were likely expired, no food waste occurred. He further linked the timing of the video's release to the anniversary of the 1968 Warsaw Pact occupation, using the controversy to criticize President Petr Pavel.

The incident has drawn sharp condemnation from political figures, including MEP Tomáš Zdechovský, who criticized the behavior as disrespectful to a cultural site. Petr Macinka, chairman of the Motorists and Minister of Foreign Affairs, noted that the matter had been investigated.
