Filip Udovčić, 13, Wins European Silver in Programming and Secures Spot at World Robot Olympiad
Thirteen‑year‑old Filip Udovčić, a student at OŠ Josipovac in Slavonia and Baranja, earned a silver medal at the European Junior Informatics Olympiad (EJOI 2026) in Kaunas, ranking 17th among 100 competitors from 25 countries. He competed in the under‑16 category, solving six complex algorithmic tasks in C++.
Earlier in the season, Udovčić and teammate Jakov Ćorić won the RoboMission Junior category at the Croatian World Robot Olympiad finals, securing a place for the World Robot Olympiad 2026 final in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The young programmer has previously become a three‑time Croatian champion in algorithms, won silver at the Croatian Logo Olympiad, and holds five national WRO titles. His achievements reflect the work of the regional STEM centre C.H.A.O.S. Josipovac, which offers free workshops in informatics, robotics, mathematics and physics to children across the region.
