Rally Madeira Legend concludes with Rui Pinto victory

The Rally Madeira Legend 2026 has concluded, with Madeiran driver Rui Pinto securing the overall victory. Navigated by Rubina Gonçalves in a Ford Focus WRC, Pinto finished ahead of Italy’s Renato Travaglia, driving a BMW M3, and João Martins in a Citroën Saxo.

Regional Secretary of Economy, José Manuel Rodrigues, described the event as a success both sportingly and socially. He emphasized the rally's ability to mobilize various generations and its importance in preserving the region's automotive heritage. Rodrigues also advocated for continued public support for such initiatives due to their significant tourism and social impact.

The competition featured 63 teams competing across ten special stages. Notable international participants included Belgian driver Patrick Snijers, who competed in a Ford Sierra RS Cosworth 4x4.
