Filipe Silva wins Finn European Masters title in Spain

Portuguese sailor Filipe Silva secured his second Finn European Masters title at the Mar Menor in Los Alcázares, Spain. Following a final race held under challenging light wind conditions, Silva maintained a 20-point lead over the field to claim the continental championship.

France’s Laurent Hay took the silver medal, while Valerian Lebrun earned the bronze. The final race was won by Eric Bakker of the Netherlands, who finished just ahead of Silva. The competition, which hosted 117 sailors from 21 countries, saw several Dutch athletes finish in the top ten.

Spanish sailor Miguel Fernández Vasco finished fourth in the overall standings but secured third place in the Master category. The event was marked by fluctuating winds between 5 and 8 knots, leading to delays and a strategic final race that determined the podium positions.
