Filipino actress Kim Chiu files theft complaint against sister

Actress Kim Chiu has filed a qualified theft complaint against her older sister, Lakambini “Lakam” Chiu, in Quezon City on Dec. 2, 2025. She alleges serious financial discrepancies and missing assets in their joint business operations, claiming large sums were lost, reportedly due to gambling.

Kim’s talent agency, Star Magic, released a statement saying an old interview should not be taken as reflecting the present dispute and reaffirming that Kim remains firm in pursuing the case through legal channels. The complaint is pending before the appropriate authorities, and no criminal finding has been made. Kim continues her professional commitments while the legal process proceeds.
