Filipino national dies in separate incidents in Kudat

Two separate incidents in Kudat, Sabah, have resulted in the deaths of Filipino nationals.

In the first incident, a man in his 20s died after falling into the sea from a vessel anchored at the Ko-Nelayan Jetty. Following a search and rescue operation that lasted into a second day, a group of fishermen discovered the body at approximately 10:20 a.m. The operation involved the Kudat Fire and Rescue Station, the Royal Malaysia Police, the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, and Civil Defence.

In a second, unrelated incident, a 56-year-old Filipino contractor died at the Lok Yuk Chinese Primary School. The victim was reportedly electrocuted when a ladder he was using struck an electrical cable while he was performing lighting installation and repair work near the school gate. Emergency responders from the Fire and Rescue Department and Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd attended the scene, but the man was pronounced dead at the location.
