Fillea-Cgil proposes Special Economic Zone for housing

Antonio Di Franco, General Secretary of Fillea-Cgil, has proposed several strategic reforms to address ongoing issues in the Italian construction and housing sectors. The union is calling for a long-term programming approach to public works and an organic revision of the Contracts Code to resolve bottlenecks caused by project quality issues, rising material costs, and corruption risks.

Regarding housing, the union advocates for the creation of a Special Economic Zone (ZES) for housing. This initiative aims to use fiscal levers to attract investment, protect low-income groups, and improve access to credit and rental agreements.
