Film 100 Dias depicts Amyr Klink’s historic Atlantic crossing
The film ‘100 Dias’, directed by Carlos Saldanha, is set to premiere on October 29, 2026. The movie is based on the autobiography ‘Cem Dias Entre Céu e Mar’ and chronicles the 1984 expedition of navigator Amyr Klink.
In 1984, Klink became the first person to cross the South Atlantic alone in a rowing boat, traveling from Namibia to the coast of Bahia, Brazil. The production utilizes advanced visual effects and a navigable boat built to the exact dimensions of the original vessel to recreate the physical and psychological challenges of the 100-day journey.
The film's development faced several obstacles, including script disputes, the death of director Breno Silveira, and the withdrawal of various production companies. The project was eventually resumed under Saldanha, known for animated works such as ‘Ice Age’ and ‘Rio’.
Additionally, the film features the Honda CB750 Four motorcycle, a model significant to Klink’s personal history prior to his maritime expeditions. Honda Motos is a sponsor of the project.
