DC film achieves massive box office growth during opening weekend

The action drama 'DC', marking the acting debut of director Lokesh Kanagaraj, has experienced significant box office growth during its opening weekend in India. Following a modest start on August 7, the film saw a rapid upward trajectory, with collections increasing by approximately 52% on both its second and third days.

By the end of its third day (Sunday, August 9), the film's estimated worldwide gross reached approximately ₹32 crore. In India, the tracked gross for the first three days reached roughly ₹21.97 crore, with the Telugu market contributing significantly with ₹6.25 crore. The Tamil version continues to be the strongest performer.

Directed by Arun Matheswaran and featuring Wamiqa Gabbi, the film is a modern take on the classic Devdas story. Its success is attributed to positive word-of-mouth and Anirudh Ravichander's musical score. With an estimated budget between ₹25 and ₹40 crore, the film is positioned for a strong performance heading into the Independence Day long weekend.
