Film “Elsinore” starring Andrew Scott to debut in US and worldwide markets

Focus Features has acquired the biographical drama Elsinore, directed by Simon Stone, which portrays the final stage performance of actor Ian Charleson. The film stars Andrew Scott as Charleson, with supporting performances by Oscar‑winner Olivia Colman, Billie Piper and Johnny Flynn. Written by Stephen Beresford, the story follows Charleson’s last triumph at London’s National Theatre.

Elsinore will open in select North American theatres on 20 November and expand across the Thanksgiving holiday and into December. Distribution in the United States is handled by Focus Features, while Universal Pictures International will cover Latin America. STUDIOCANAL is releasing the picture theatrically in its territories, including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy (through Lucky Red), Poland, the Benelux region, Australia and New Zealand, and is also managing worldwide sales. The production is a joint effort by STUDIOCANAL, LD Entertainment, Lucky Red and Magnolia Mae Films.
