Film festivals and screenings announced in Prague and Banská Bystrica

The second edition of the BOO International Short Film Festival will take place in Prague from November 2 to November 8. The festival features over one hundred short films selected from more than 2,500 submissions, focusing on originality and unique cinematic language. Key venues include Kino Kavalírka, Ponrepo, KP Smíchov, and MeetFactory.

Competition winners for the European BOO and Czech-German BOO categories will be decided by international professional juries. The festival also includes audience participation through age-specific categories. Additionally, the program features a Cannes Critics' Week collection at Ponrepo and an Industry Days event at KP Smíchov for film professionals.

In Banská Bystrica, the Film Club has launched its autumn season with expanded screening days and improved audiovisual quality. The October schedule includes several premieres, such as Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s 'Digger' starring Tom Cruise, the Berlinale-awarded 'Keby sa holuby premenili na zlato', and the historical drama 'Generál Golian'.
