Film festivals announced for Jardín and Cúcuta in Colombia

Colombia is hosting two distinct film festivals in the regions of Antioquia and Norte de Santander.

The 11th Jardín Film Festival will take place in Jardín, Antioquia, from September 24 to 27, 2026. Under the artistic direction of filmmaker Víctor Gaviria, the event carries the theme ‘Ecos de Voces Silenciadas – Life and death of social leaders in Colombia’. The festival will feature over 20 feature films, academic panels, and community training workshops across 60 villages and Emberá territories. It includes competition incentives exceeding 11 million pesos.

In Cúcuta, the 9th Norte de Santander International Film Festival (Ficnor) is scheduled from August 28 to September 4, 2026. Organized by Frontera Films, the event will showcase approximately 60 short films across fiction, documentary, and student categories. The program includes free workshops, film screenings at various local venues, and discussions with directors and actors.
