Film festivals celebrate diverse perspectives in Spain and Mexico

Various film festivals are scheduled to highlight diverse perspectives in September. In Chiclana, Spain, the sixth edition of Generamma, organized by the Asociación Andaluza de Mujeres de los Medios Audiovisuales (Aamma), will take place from September 15 to 19. The festival focuses on cinema made by women, featuring works such as ‘Yo no moriré de amor’ by Marta Matute and ‘Pioneras. Solo querían jugar’ by Marta Díaz de Lope Díaz.

In Mexico, the ninth edition of the Cinema Queer festival will run from September 24 to 27. The event aims to celebrate LGBTQ+ life stories through national and international films from countries including Germany, Sweden, Chile, and Colombia. Screenings will be held across Morelia, Pátzcuaro, Paracho, Jiquilpan, and Zamora, accompanied by workshops on sexuality and dissident memory.
