Film festivals expand presence across multiple Turkish cities

Multiple film festivals are expanding their reach across Türkiye. The 4th European Cinema Days, organized by the EU Delegation to Türkiye in collaboration with various embassies and cultural institutes, will showcase 16 films from countries including Austria, Belgium, France, Italy, and Sweden. The festival includes screenings in Trabzon, Antalya, Diyarbakır, İzmir, and Samsun, with free screenings in Trabzon scheduled from September 30 to October 4.

Simultaneously, the Filmekimi festival, organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV), is expanding its program beyond Istanbul. In addition to its Istanbul screenings, the festival will visit Ankara from October 15–18, İzmir from October 22–25, and Mersin for the first time. The lineup features works from acclaimed directors such as Pedro Almodóvar and Werner Herzog, including the Cannes Palme d'Or winner ‘Fjord’ by Cristian Mungiu.
