Film festivals in Colombia and Ecuador celebrate 25th anniversaries
Two major film festivals are celebrating their 25th anniversaries in South America.
In Colombia, the French Film Festival is hosting its 25th edition from September 23 to October 7. The program features works from directors such as Gaspar Noé, Marjane Satrapi, and Mathieu Kassovitz. The festival includes a mix of retrospective titles like ‘Three Colors: Blue’ and ‘La Famille Bélier’, alongside new premieres such as ‘The Great Forger’ and ‘In-I In Motion’.
In Ecuador, the EDOC International Documentary Film Festival marks 25 years with a selection of 71 national and international films. Taking place in Quito and Guayaquil, the event features premieres, colloquiums, and a photographic exhibition. The festival opens with the documentary ‘A Fox Under a Pink Moon’, which follows the life of Soraya Akhlaghi.
