Film festivals launch in Prishtina and Tetovë

The 18th edition of the Prishtina International Film Festival (PriFest) has commenced in Prishtina, running from September 8 to September 13, 2026. The festival opened with a screening of the film ‘Dua’, directed by Blerta Bashollit. Set in Prishtina during the late 1990s, the film follows a 13-year-old girl navigating adolescence amidst rising ethnic tensions and the approaching shadow of war.

Simultaneously, the 15th edition of the TIFF ODA International Film Festival is scheduled to take place in Tetovë from September 16 to September 22. This jubilee edition will feature a diverse program of short and feature films from the Balkans, Europe, and beyond. The festival will open with the same film, ‘Dua’, and is set to conclude with ‘Shame and Money’ by director Visar Morina. The program includes the ‘CINE WIN PANORAMA’ competition, showcasing 22 short artistic, documentary, animated, and student films.
