Film festivals launched in Mexico and Nicaragua to promote cultural diversity

Two distinct film festivals have been announced in Mexico and Nicaragua to promote cultural diversity and cinematic exchange.

In Mexico, the second edition of 'Muestra Oaxaca: Cine para la Vida' will take place from September 2 to 9. Organized by Tulip Pictures under the direction of Abraham González, the event aims to decentralize cultural offerings and support emerging filmmakers, particularly from southern Mexico. The program includes 13 national productions across 25 screenings, categorized into themes such as community, childhood, and documentary. The festival also features academic components, including specialized workshops and masterclasses.

In Nicaragua, the Cinemateca Nacional has launched the 22nd edition of the European Film Showcase. Running from August 26 to 29, the event features ten productions from seven different countries. The showcase aims to strengthen cultural ties between Nicaragua and Europe, offering stories that explore themes of identity, equality, respect, and family.
