Film festivals showcase German and Italian cinema in Hungary
Several film festivals are bringing international cinema to Hungarian audiences. The 15th edition of the ‘Sehenswert’ festival, organized by the Goethe Institute in collaboration with Apolló Cinema and Lenau-ház, will present a selection of contemporary German, Austrian, and Swiss films in Pécs from October 27 to October 31. The program includes award-winning titles such as ‘Rosepedig’, which represents Austria in the Oscar race, and ‘The Evening Shift’, a multi-award-winning Swiss film.
Additionally, the 24th MittelCinemaFest will celebrate Italian cinema from November 6 to 14. Organized by the Italian Cultural Institute in Budapest and Cinecittà, the festival will screen eight contemporary Italian films and one classic work at the Puskin and Tabán cinemas in Budapest, as well as the Belvárosi cinema in Szeged. The lineup features David di Donatello award-winning films and a special screening marking the 10th anniversary of Bud Spencer’s death.
