Film ‘Jossain on valo joka ei sammu’ wins Music Innovation Award

The film ‘Jossain on valo joka ei sammu’ has been awarded the Music Innovation Award of the Year at the Screen Helsinki event held on August 28, 2026. The award, presented by Gramex and the AV Music service, recognizes innovative and creative uses of music in films and television series.

Directed and written by Lauri-Matti Parppei, the film follows a top guitarist named Pauli who returns to his hometown to recover and finds new purpose through making music with an old school friend, Iiris. The jury noted that the music serves as a central character and the core of the narrative, rather than just a supporting element. All music in the film was recorded live during filming, featuring a blend of experimental, lyrical, and classical influences.
