Film markets AFM and ACFM announce 2026 programming updates
Major international film markets are expanding their programming for 2026 to include new technologies and audience engagement strategies.
The American Film Market (AFM) has announced a collaboration with AMC A-List and the B-List Movie Club for its 2026 screenings at AMC Century City 15. This initiative allows industry professionals and buyers to present films to a community of over 5,000 frequent moviegoers in Los Angeles to gather audience feedback. More than 215 exhibiting companies have already confirmed for the event.
Simultaneously, the Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM), the official market of the Busan International Film Festival, has finalized its 2026 lineup with a heavy emphasis on generative AI and emerging media. In partnership with Kling AI, the market will host sessions focused on reimagining filmmaking through artificial intelligence. The lineup also addresses the rise of microdramas and the impact of streaming and short-form platforms on the industry. The event will feature Thailand as the Country of Honor and Japan as the Focus Country.
