Film ‘mentor’ starring Hayato Isomura and Seiya Suezawa to release October 16
The upcoming film ‘mentor’, directed by Eisuke Yoshida, is set for release on October 16. The story follows two childhood friends, Ryunosuke (played by Hayato Isomura) and Takumi (played by Seiya Suezawa), who are haunted by a fire they caused 15 years prior. Their lives intersect with Himoto (played by Go Ayano), a man who lost his family in the accident and lives with physical aftereffects.
In a newly released clip, Takumi is shown intensely practicing apologies and prostrating (dogeza) in front of a mirror to prepare for a confrontation. The scene highlights the emotional contrast between the two leads: Takumi’s fervent, tearful attempts at atonement versus Ryunosuke’s detached and uncomfortable reaction to the guilt.
Actors Hayato Isomura and Seiya Suezawa discussed their first collaboration, noting a bond that developed into a brotherly relationship during filming. Isomura praised Suezawa’s instinctive acting approach, while Suezawa expressed admiration for Isomura’s ability to convey complex emotions through subtle movements.
