Film “Om” starring Dhanush and Mammootty starts final shoot in Malaysia
The Indian action film Om, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy and starring Tamil star Dhanush with Malayalam veteran Mammootty, has entered its final production schedule in Malaysia. Sources say filming began on Sunday, and video of Dhanush signing autographs for fans in the country has been circulating online.
Wunderbar Films, Dhanush’s production house, announced the addition of Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah to the cast. The film, slated for an October 16, 2026 release, may see its release date shifted, according to industry insiders. Promotional material shows Dhanush playing a woodcutter confronting illegal red‑sander harvesting, and the project includes actresses Sai Pallavi and Sreeleela, music by Sai Abhyankkar, cinematography by Ezhil Arasu, and editing by Kalaivanan R.
Production partners include R Take Studios, and the film is being promoted as a large‑budget “mega‑biggie” with a sequel hinted at by the “Chapter 1” tagline.
