Film on Bosnian Queen Katarina Kosača‑Kotromanić screened in Sarajevo and Vogošća

A new film titled “Majka kraljica Katarina Kosača‑Kotromanić,” created by author‑filmmaker Nataša Bartula Hébert, was shown to the public in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The first screening took place on 5 August 2026 at 19:30 in the Brusa bezistan of the Museum of Sarajevo, with free admission. The following night the film was presented at the JU KSC Vogošća cinema.

The production combines historical research with modern AI technology, using digital voices and visual effects to recreate the life of the medieval Bosnian queen. It draws on archival sources, including a newly translated Latin will of the queen, and involved a large team of actors, journalists, musicians, scholars and other contributors who provided narration and performances.
