Film “Sulfur Road” screened in Enna, Italy
The documentary film‑documentary “Sulfur Road”, written and directed by Italian‑American filmmaker Michael Cavalieri, was shown at the Sala Cerere in Enna on Friday 31 July at 20:30. The screening was part of the Biblioinsieme cultural programme promoted by the Enna committee of the Società Dante Alighieri in cooperation with the municipalities of Enna, Aidone, Calascibetta and Villarosa. The event received support from the Fondazione con il Sud and the Centre for Books and Reading of the Italian Ministry of Culture. The film recounts the history of Sicily’s sulfur mines, linking past and present to restore dignity to miners and the “carusi”. Admission was free while seats lasted. The programme also includes literary aperitifs in the nearby Parco Proserpina and will resume after a summer break in September.
