Film Symphony Orchestra brings horror cinema concert to Valencia

The Film Symphony Orchestra, led by conductor Constantino Martínez-Orts, is presenting ‘Dracul’ at the Palau de la Música in Valencia. The two-and-a-half-hour symphonic spectacle features a selection of iconic horror and suspense film scores, ranging from classics like ‘Dracula’, ‘Psycho’, ‘Jaws’, and ‘Frankenstein’ to family-oriented titles such as ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’, ‘Beetlejuice’, and ‘Coco’.

Martínez-Orts, who trained in England and the United States, advocates for the artistic recognition of film music, stating that cinematic scores deserve the same respect as the works of classical composers like Puccini or Verdi. The performance incorporates specialized lighting and atmospheric elements to enhance the musical journey through various cinematic universes.
