Film WILD BOYS wins Grand Prix at 1st Hozugawa Film Festival

The film ‘WILD BOYS’, directed and written by Zak Baney, has won the Grand Prix (Best Film Award) at the inaugural Hozugawa Film Festival held in Kameoka, Kyoto Prefecture. The award was determined by audience selection.

Previously screened at the Marché du Film during the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, the film features an all-Japanese cast, including lead actor Ota Saidai and veteran actor Tsutomu Tamura. The story follows two friends attempting to survive a self-sufficient life in the mountains to avoid being separated by the foster care system.

The soundtrack includes music by the legendary American rock band LOUDNESS. The production is currently seeking domestic theaters, distribution partners, and organizations for independent screenings.
