FilmClub Distribuzione acquires Italian rights to Irene Dionisio’s ‘IDDA’

FilmClub Distribuzione has acquired the rights to distribute Irene Dionisio’s drama, ‘IDDA’, in Italy. The announcement follows the film’s world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival as part of the Platform program.

Set against the volcanic landscapes of Sicily’s Mount Etna, the film follows two childhood friends, Adele and Sofia, whose lifelong bond is tested during their thirties. The production is being shopped at TIFF: The Market in Toronto, with Rai Cinema International Distribution managing international sales.

Irene Dionisio, who previously transitioned from documentaries to narrative filmmaking with ‘Pawn Street’, co-wrote ‘IDDA’ with Marco Borromei. The film stars Tecla Insolia and Romana Maggiora Vergano.
