Filming begins for ‘The Family Stone’ sequel in New York

Production has officially commenced on the sequel to the 2005 comedy ‘The Family Stone’ in Brooklyn, New York. Original cast members Sarah Jessica Parker, Claire Danes, Dermot Mulroney, and Luke Wilson have been spotted on set.

Directed by Thomas Bezucha, the new film is set two decades after the death of the family matriarch, Sybil Stone. The plot follows the family reuniting for the Christmas holidays, only to be surprised when their father invites a new partner to meet them.

Director Bezucha noted that the loss of actress Diane Keaton, who played Sybil Stone, influenced the writing of the film. While filming is underway, a specific release date for the sequel has not yet been announced.
