Filmmaker Gabriel Mascaro and Producer Paula Cosenza Launch Trema in Recife

Filmmaker Gabriel Mascaro, known for the award‑winning "The Blue Trail," and acclaimed producer Paula Cosenza have founded Trema, a new production company headquartered in Recife, Brazil. The venture aims to develop international co‑productions, scripted series and auteur‑driven cinema with global distribution potential, supported by a financing fund that blends public and private investment.

Trema’s inaugural slate includes projects such as "Three Dark Nights" (directed by Theo Court), the film "Rafael" by João Paulo Miranda Maria, the Chilean‑Brazilian co‑production "Arca" from Matías Bize, the basketball‑themed feature "Paula & Hortencia," and the limited series "Oásis." Mascaro also confirmed he is developing his next feature film under the new company. Cosenza, whose credits include Cannes‑selected "Memory House" and Berlin‑screened titles, will promote Trema’s offerings at upcoming festivals.
