Filmpiknik 2026 Film Festival Returns to Balatonfüred and Veszprém

The Veszprém‑Balaton Filmpiknik will be held from 27 to 29 August 2026 in Balatonfüred and Veszprém, reviving the three‑day Hungarian film festival in a refreshed format. Around sixty feature, documentary, short and animated films will be screened, including several premieres. The programme is complemented by audience meetings, round‑table discussions, concerts, children’s activities and outdoor events.

Actress and producer Andrea Osvárt will serve as the festival’s host. In addition to film screenings, the event will feature debates on topics such as power dynamics in the film and theatre sectors, cross‑border communication, workplace safety and the future of the National Film Institute. Tributes will be paid to Hungarian cinema figures Latinovits Zoltán, Tarr Béla and Herskó János.
