Filogaso hosts its first Biennale of contemporary art and poetry

The village of Filogaso in the Vibo Valentia hills is hosting its first Biennale, a cultural event featuring contemporary art, sculpture, and poetry. Initiated by Mayor Massimo Trimmeliti and organized by the Fior di Loto association, the event has drawn artists, critics, and enthusiasts from across Italy and abroad.

Under the artistic direction of Antonio Teti and Caterina Rizzo, with curation by Sonia Demurtas, the exhibition includes over 100 selected artists. The program features international participants from Croatia, Mexico, Argentina, and Bangladesh, alongside Italian and Calabrian artists. Approximately 30 merit plaques and recognition certificates were awarded to participants to honor their research and talent.

The Biennale also includes a poetry component, highlighted by the presentation of the volume ‘Dall’Amore la Pace’. The event is scheduled to conclude on October 2 with a formal closing ceremony and a fashion show featuring works from the IIS De Filippis Prestia fashion school.
