UNAM hosts VIII FILUNI international book fair

The eighth edition of the International Book Fair of University Women and Men (FILUNI) is being held at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). The event features various academic and cultural activities, including editorial presentations and tributes to figures such as Miguel León-Portilla and Jaime Sabines.

American philosopher and activist Angela Davis participated in the fair, emphasizing the vital role of books and reading, particularly for incarcerated individuals. Davis also discussed the importance of collective organization to address social issues such as capitalism and fascism.

The University of Guanajuato (UG) is also participating in the fair through its University Editorial Program, showcasing its latest catalog, including the work ‘La economía en morado: los retos del desarrollo en México desde miradas de mujeres economistas’. Additionally, UG representatives are participating in the 15th Ordinary General Assembly of the National Altexto Network during the event.
