Filyos Port aims to become a regional logistics hub through KARDEMİR cooperation

A delegation from Karabük Iron and Steel Works (KARDEMİR), led by Chairman Muhammed Ali Oflaz, visited the Filyos Türkiye Petrolleri Port to inspect ongoing operations and discuss strategic cooperation. Hosted by Türkiye Petrolleri General Manager Cem Erdem, the meeting focused on transforming the facility from a strategic logistics base for Black Sea oil and gas activities into a major commercial port for regional industry.

The discussions centered on utilizing the port to manage raw material supply, imports, and exports for industrial companies in Karabük, Zonguldak, Bartın, and surrounding provinces. By leveraging the port’s railway and highway connections, the parties aim to reduce logistics costs and increase the regional competitiveness of local industries.

Türkiye Petrolleri intends to operate the port with modern, technological infrastructure aligned with green transformation policies. The goal is to increase the port's handling capacity and establish Filyos as a primary regional logistics and trade center.
