FIM and FIS hold strategic meetings in Morocco and Switzerland

The FIM Board of Directors held its third strategic meeting of 2026 in Agadir, Morocco, on September 26 and 27. Discussions focused on promotional contracts for various championships, including the FIM World Supercross and the FIM Harley-Davidson Bagger World Cup. The board also reviewed the impact of Middle East geopolitical tensions on events such as MotoGP in Qatar and the Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia. Safety updates included the implementation of the FRHPhe-02 helmet standard and a roadmap for mandatory airbag homologation in motocross disciplines by 2028.

Separately, the FIS is hosting its Autumn Meetings in Geneva, Switzerland, from September 28 to October 3. These meetings serve as a foundational gathering for the newly elected leadership at the start of a new Olympic and Paralympic cycle. The event includes a FIS Summit to update membership on strategic priorities and the presentation of the FIS Climate Awards, which recognize efforts to reduce CO2 emissions within the organization.
