FIM Superbike World Championship adopts new technical roadmap through 2030

The FIM Superbike Commission approved a series of immediate regulation changes for the 2026 season and unveiled a long‑term technical roadmap covering 2027‑2030. Key measures include a manufacturer‑specific rev‑limit and fuel‑flow restriction starting in 2027, a single official fuel supplier, and a reduction of the maximum noise level by 3 dB to 112 dB. The most significant change slated for 2030 is an increase in the maximum engine capacity for four‑cylinder motorcycles to 1,200 cc.

Additional sporting rules take effect after the summer break at the French round: pit‑lane entry must follow the designated line, riders two laps or more behind the leader who enter the pit lane may not rejoin the race, and any restarted race must run a minimum of five laps. For the World Sportbike class, teams may replace standard radiators with larger racing‑spec units in extreme heat conditions. A revised concession system is planned for 2028, replacing the current format with a rank‑based model.
