Final Fantasy 7 Revelation to feature more accessible platinum trophy
Director Naoki Hamaguchi has confirmed that the upcoming title Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will feature a more accessible platinum trophy compared to its predecessor, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. This decision follows player feedback regarding the high difficulty and punishing post-game challenges in Rebirth, which resulted in only 2.6% of PlayStation 5 players unlocking the ultimate achievement.
While Hamaguchi noted that the dense content and steep mastery curve in Rebirth were intentional design choices, he acknowledged the frustration caused by the volume of required activities. For Revelation, the development team aims to make high-level encounters more intrinsically engaging rather than relying on artificial difficulty.
Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is scheduled for release on February 8, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. The game is expected to offer a runtime exceeding 100 hours.
