Final Fantasy 7 Revelation to feature redesigned Hard Mode available from start
Naoki Hamaguchi, the producer of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series, has confirmed that the upcoming title, Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, will feature a redesigned Hard Mode. Unlike the previous two entries in the trilogy, which required players to complete the main story before unlocking higher difficulty settings, Hard Mode in Revelation will be available from the very beginning of the game.
Hamaguchi stated that the difficulty system has been “reimagined to align with the new game design.” This change is driven by the fact that Revelation offers a wide variety of endgame content accessible after the credits roll, meaning high difficulty is no longer strictly necessary as a reward for completion.
Additionally, the developers are moving away from simply restricting items to increase difficulty. The new system includes an “Enemy Strength” setting, allowing players to choose between a dynamic mode or static enemy strength to better tailor their experience.
