Final Fantasy Resonance set for October 2026 release

Square Enix is set to release Final Fantasy Resonance on October 22, 2026. The title is the first ‘HD-2D’ RPG in the franchise and marks a return to turn-based combat for the series on home consoles, a style not seen in a mainline entry since 2003.

The game features pixel-art graphics and follows the story of Rain, a Knight of Grandshelt, who must protect life-giving Crystals from a group known as the Sworn Six. The title will be available on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and PC. A free demo is currently available across all platforms.
