Final Fantasy VII Rebirth launches on Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch 2
Square Enix released the second installment of its Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, on Xbox Series consoles and the Nintendo Switch 2 on 3 June. The game’s content, storyline, combat system and base price (R$ 284.90) are identical across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Switch 2, with Microsoft offering a launch discount to R$ 227.92 until 9 June.
Performance varies by hardware: the Xbox Series X delivers graphics and frame rates close to the PS5, while the Series S runs at a lower resolution similar to the Switch 2 version, which prioritises portability. Xbox adds ecosystem features such as Quick Resume and Play Anywhere, letting players pick up where they left off and play the title on any Microsoft device. Square Enix confirmed a third installment will also appear on these platforms, underscoring its multi‑platform strategy for the franchise.
