Final Fantasy VII Revelation graphics modes confirmed for PS5 Pro
Square Enix is developing multiple graphics modes for Final Fantasy VII Revelation on the PlayStation 5 Pro. Based on a Tokyo Game Show demo, the game is expected to feature at least three distinct settings: Quality, Performance – Sharp, and a third option described as either Performance – Soft or Performance – Smooth.
The Performance modes aim to provide a 60 FPS experience. The Smooth/Soft option is expected to utilize PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) to upscale the image toward 4K resolution. The Sharp option focuses on higher detail at a lower resolution. The Quality mode is intended to provide the highest possible resolution, likely targeting 4K, though it may be locked to 30 FPS.
Director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed that PS5 Pro owners will have access to a dedicated PSSR-powered mode targeting 4K at 60 FPS. He noted that these modes are intended to offer meaningful differences in environmental detail, shading, and hair rendering rather than being purely cosmetic changes.
