Final Fantasy VII Revelation requires multiple playthroughs for full content
Director Naoki Hamaguchi has revealed new details regarding Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the final chapter in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy. During an interview with IGN Japan, Hamaguchi stated that players will need to play the game multiple times to experience all available content.
This replayability is driven by sidequests that change based on the chosen protagonist. According to Hamaguchi, selecting different characters for these missions will alter the narrative perspective, gameplay experience, and even the quest conclusions. The goal is to ensure that the emotions characters bring to the final battle vary depending on who is centered in the action.
While the amount of content in a single playthrough is expected to be comparable to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Hamaguchi believes the total volume of content in Revelation will exceed its predecessor due to these branching elements. The game is scheduled for release on April 8, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
