Square Enix has revealed new gameplay features for Final Fantasy VII Revelation, specifically focusing on hot spring (onsen) mechanics. Unveiled during SDCC Málaga, the footage shows characters engaging in traditional Japanese thermal baths.

These hot spring locations provide gameplay benefits, including a permanent increase to the party's maximum HP. Additionally, players can unlock new bathing suit skins for characters such as Cloud, Barret, and Cid. The segments also serve as narrative tools, allowing players to witness personal conversations that offer deeper insights into the characters' relationships and daily lives.

Director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed that the hot spring scenes are accessible to all genders. Final Fantasy VII Revelation is scheduled for release on April 8, 2027, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
