Final Fantasy VII Revelation title explained by director Naoki Hamaguchi
Square Enix announced the third and final installment of the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy, Final Fantasy VII Revelation, at the Summer Game Fest. Director Naoki Hamaguchi told Game Informer that the name was not chosen for its similarity to the theme "Resolve" but to convey the game's purpose of answering the unresolved questions from the previous two releases. He explained that "Resolve" was never a serious title candidate, while "Revelation" reflects the intended narrative climax.
Hamaguchi revealed that the title was kept secret within the development team, with only five or six people aware of it before the public reveal. The game will emphasize characters' emotional resolve and allow player choices to shape the experience, aiming to deepen the bond between players and the protagonists as the story reaches its conclusion.
