Square Enix to showcase Final Fantasy VII Revelation at Gamescom 2026
Square Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the concluding chapter of the remake trilogy, will feature a dedicated segment at the Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25, 2026. Game director Naoki Hamaguchi is scheduled to appear on stage at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany, to present new details and a "new look" at the title.
Development plans for Revelation include integrating elements from various spin-offs and tie-in media, such as Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus, and Crisis Core, into a cohesive narrative conclusion. The game is expected to feature a large-scale open world accessible via the Highwind airship, including new regions like Wutai and Midel.
Unlike previous entries in the trilogy which had temporary PlayStation exclusivity, Revelation is set for a simultaneous multi-platform release in the first half of 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
