Finale Ligure family found dead in suspected murder-suicide

A family of three was found dead in a residence in Finale Ligure, Savona, under suspected murder-suicide circumstances. The victims have been identified as Daniele Baruzzo, his wife Paola Siri, and their 14-year-old son, Mattia.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Baruzzo shot his wife and son before turning the firearm on himself. The bodies were discovered on the morning of September 3, 2026, after relatives and an employer raised alarms when the family could not be reached. Authorities found a note at the scene, which is currently being examined to clarify the sequence of events.

Emergency responders, including the Carabinieri, firefighters, and medical personnel, attended the scene. The local community and the Finale F.C. football club, where the son was an athlete, have expressed profound grief over the tragedy.
