Financial apps aim to bridge gaps in automated hiring processes
Financial technology companies like EarnIn are exploring ways to bridge the gap between job seekers and employers as traditional hiring processes become increasingly automated. According to the World Economic Forum, over 80% of companies now utilize automation or artificial intelligence in their recruitment processes, often using algorithms to score, rank, and filter resumes before human review.
This shift has created significant challenges for workers. A 2025 Checkr survey found that 58% of respondents believe it is nearly impossible to secure an interview or receive a response through traditional job boards. Furthermore, the iHire 2025 Online Recruiting Report indicates that 59% of candidates struggle with a lack of communication from employers, while 51% of employers report frustration with candidate ghosting.
Critics note that current job board models prioritize employer demand—measuring success through application volume and subscriptions—rather than successful hiring outcomes. This can lead to ‘application black holes’ and algorithmic filtering that disproportionately affects workers lacking access to professional networks or resume coaching.
