Financial changes in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, legal protections govern the seizure of wages and pensions due to debt. According to the Law on Enforcement Proceedings of the Federation of BiH, enforcement on salaries, pensions, and similar benefits is limited to one-half of the amount if monthly income does not exceed 1,000 KM. For income exceeding 1,000 KM, enforcement can reach up to two-thirds. Additionally, enforcement on minimum and guaranteed pensions is limited to one-third. Courts are required to consider the debtor's actual material and financial situation when deciding on enforcement amounts.
In Croatia, Raiffeisen Bank Austria (RBA) has announced a new fee schedule for individuals effective October 31, 2026. The bank cites rising operating costs and investments in technology and security as reasons for the increase. Monthly fees for various banking packages, such as the Start&Go and FlexiSPECIJAL packages, will increase by two euros. Digital banking services will also see significant hikes, with mobile banking fees rising from 1.46 to 2 euros and internet banking fees increasing from 1.19 to 2 euros.
