Financial education initiatives address money management and behavior

Financial education and the psychology of money are being highlighted through various educational initiatives. In Cocal do Sul, the Legislative School of the Municipal Chamber is hosting a lecture by Karen Schafer on October 28. The session, titled “Financial Mindset: what no one taught you about money,” will focus on financial behavior, decision-making, and wealth construction.

In a separate discussion on the program ‘Provoca’ on TV Cultura, behavioral financial planner Lai Santiago addressed the causes of over-indebtedness in Brazil. Santiago noted that debt often stems from unforeseen circumstances or impulsivity, regardless of income level. She emphasized the necessity of emergency reserves and discussed how social media-driven impulse consumption and the automation of credit cards impact financial stability.
