Financial reports highlight non-profit subsidies and corporate donations in Argentina and Mexico

In Argentina, the National Institute of Associativism and Social Economy (INAES) approved approximately 1.06 billion pesos in financial support during 2026. While most funds were directed toward cooperatives and mutuals, the Asociación Civil Sumatoria para una Nueva Economía received 100 million pesos, representing 9.4% of the total. Sumatoria was founded by Matías Kelly, a former INAES board member who resigned in March 2025, one year before the agreement was approved.

In Mexico, twenty business-associated foundations made donations totaling 2.7 billion pesos in 2025. While some funds supported vulnerable sectors and environmental protection, reports indicate a portion was used to finance opposition groups. Major contributors included Fundación Coppel, Fundación Diez Morodo, and Fundación FEMSA. The scale of these donations is noted as being equivalent to the cost of over 424,000 elderly pensions.
