Financial forums in Ecuador and Mexico address Latin American fintech trends

Major financial forums in Ecuador and Mexico recently convened to discuss the future of the Latin American financial system, focusing on technological integration and economic resilience.

The 26th International Forum on Financial Inclusion, organized by the Red de Instituciones Financieras de Desarrollo (RFD) in Manta, Ecuador, gathered approximately 700 participants. The event featured 25 speakers from 10 countries, including representatives from the Inter-American Development Bank, the World Bank, and CAF. Discussions centered on how artificial intelligence, geopolitics, and new financing models can expand financial inclusion and strengthen emerging economies.

In Mexico City, the 10th edition of FINNOSUMMIT brought together over 2,000 attendees, including financial leaders and investors. The summit highlighted the evolution of fintech from creating standalone products to becoming a technological layer integrated into sectors like retail, logistics, and healthcare. Key topics included cross-border payments, regulation, and stablecoins. Notably, the event emphasized the role of AI, with reports indicating that 77% of Mexican fintech companies already integrate artificial intelligence into their operations.
